Cooling bypass plugged at the block (have not seen that before)

The GTS clone project that I received in February came with a gasket issue on the timing cover and I am in the process of replacing it. Once the timing cover was off, I noticed that the bypass port on the block has been plugged. My thermostat housing has the brass plate for the proper 351C thermostat with the hat. I bought a fresh Track Boss thermostat from Tim Meyers for this car and it would have been a waste if I tried to use with this plug in the block. I am glad I stumbled on this plug and will be removing it shortly.
