Cooling hose question..

Well mine, I just put it in a month ago is a funky 90 degree. It is a 90 with a crook at the corner? It will also have a tang to bolt it down to your frame, it that helps.

I'm talking about the short rubber hose under the car, not the hard tube that goes to the expansion tank and may bolt to the frame. Trying to figure out if I should have a 90* bend in it where it connects to the undercar 6' hose.

I beleive most are 90 molded bends, I know mine is. During a recent discussion with some other local members it appears that if any rubber hose is going to fail and let go, it's that 90 bend as it has the most stresses between the engine to frame.

When I replaced my lower tubes I reinforced all rubber hoses with steel braiding and double clamping.

The local recommendation was to have only straight rubber connections. One guy had made the front carrier for the tubes removable. This allowed him to renove the long tubes with ease and weld a 90 SS bend to the pipe at te rear, with a small straight rubber connection.

I just got some of this Coolflex hose and connectors to redo the hoses to and from my new fluidyne and was thinking of using it everywhere I can. Does anyone have any experience (good or bad) wiuth this stuff?

If your talking about the 90 degree hose that wraps around the shifter linkage, I suggest the PI motorsports late model steel one that uses only straight hose connections. It is a bit pricey $70.00 but that is the worst hose to change if it blows!
