Different style Campys

I need an expert eye.

I am not sure of the differances between the different variations. I need to get at least one replacemnet as I original had three 8's and one 7". I think all of mine are the same variation and just picked one for this comparison. mine is the left and one that is available to me is the right. however I seem to notice a differance in the raised sections.

Are these two the same?

Left one is late series 2 slot and the right one is early series 2 slot from what I'm told.

I believe the one on the left is a "late" model wheel,with the flat looking castings. and the right one is an "early" wheel, with a more rounded look....check the date/year embossed on the back of the wheel...

I would inquire on the forum to see if anyone has a single late series for sale. Check with Ron McCall he normally has a variety of spare parts and may have an odd one he would sell you.

Yup! Left is L-model wheel. Right is pre-L wheel.

since I don't have any of the needed photos to be granted access, I cannot view.

I have read and looked at the photo's from other sites and my eye could not "see" the distintions. Like from the above dual photo, I sensed something is differnt but could discribe exactly what is was.

I now think i can see and the knowing which year used helped make sense
