What is the secret for removing the pins that hold the distributor gear on? Don't want to do anything stupid and destroy the distributor!

The counter top is a little hard on the gear though. I suggest resting the gear on a block of wood instead while you hammer out the pin. You might also need band-aids for when you slip and hit your hand. Especially if you have used too much "lubricant" ahead of time.
