Hi Friends, With all the problems I have read from our guys regards to the over heating. I wonder will it help if I modify my engine hood by adding louvers ventilation ?( similar like the Ferrari 355 )Or to fix electrical water pump. I am from Malaysia and the Climate is very hot and is allmost Summer all year round. Thanks and appreciate for the advice.

LOuvering the front hood will do almost nothing for cooling at low speeds, and most Panteras have no cooling problems at speeds above 25mph. Belt-driven waterpumps supply about 35 gallons per minute of flow at some rpm; if you find a pump that can supply more, it will help. All the electric pumps I'm familiar with are for cooling a drag-racing engine on the return road and just plain do not flow enough water to cool effectively. Some are used along with a belt driven pump, not by themselves. Adding an impeller plate to the back improves efficiency; be sure the rest of the cooling system is in top shape. The engine is NOT hot until it spits out water from the overflow tank. Modern cars typically run at 225 F degrees all the time with peaks to 245F. without damage.

NO, the new corvettes run mechanical pumps. They did run electric water pumps in the previous LT1 (1992?-1996) corvettes and all the LT1 derivatives. I don't know exactly why they went back to a mechanical pump but they did.

IMHO I would not run the Davies-Craig pump only because of some negative experiences that have been reported. All the other electric pumps I am aware of are for drag racing use ONLY!

Why reinvent the wheel (and use your expensive engine as the guinea pig). Dump the cast-iron pump and get a high quality, high flow aluminum pump. They are pretty cheap, lightweight, and reliable.

Just my opinion.

I SECOND THAT MOTION! I WENT WITH WEIANDS' #8902 ALUMINUM HIGH FLOW PUMP, THEY'RE $107. AT SUMMIT RACING. MARLIN.
