I am having a local guy build my Cleveland. the recent post about blue thunders got me thinking about the intake I am suppose to get. But I need some help identifing.

the builder told me it is an aluminun dual plane. the numbers I have in my notes are D1DXDA (?). It is an angled base and the builder is suppose to machine level and straighten the bolt holes

any information about this manifold would be apprecciated.

The iron manifold was D0AE-L

It needs the "trench" in front of the primaries filled-in with brazing, then re-machined flat, then the 4 holes opened-up for the larger 4150 Holley carburetors (i.e. 1-3/4").

The aluminum manifold went by one of two numbers:

(1) D1ZZ-9424-G
(2) D1ZX-9425-DA

These are aluminum, and have slotted mounting pads large enough for any 4150 Holley carburetor.

None of the manifolds are machined flat for the Pantera.

You'll find the purchase price of a Ford aluminum manifold is no less expensive than the Blue Thunder manifold, normally they are more expensive. Yet the Blue Thunder manifold allows the 4V heads to work better "as designed" and is worth at least 20 BHP more than the Ford manifolds.

All of these manifolds (Ford & Blue Thunder) will improve output by 20 to 30 BHP if the exhaust heat cross-over is blocked.
