That was a great yarn and left me wanting for more.
I think we have all gone through troubles with body shop/mechanics etc. but I feel blessed not to have have gone through that garbage.

The Summer 2003, Number 115 PI Mag (color) has a follow-on story about Fred Matsumoto. It goes into a bunch of detail about his cars (2 Panteras, and a 1930 Ford Model A, converted with a Mazda rotary engine in it).
There's some neat pictures of his car on "the salt", a picture of his trophy, and more detail about the Bonneville experience.
He talks more about the formation of the club, and his "other business" (Mind-Train) which made a whole bunch of performance and styling accessories for the Pantera.
Again - it's pretty interesting stuff.
The Number 115 issue was both the 30 year anniversary of PI (thus the interview with the club founder), but the issue was primarily devoted to the Life and Times of Alejandro de Tomaso, who had recently passed away.
