I'm looking for opinions/ecxperience on keeping the front disc brake shield when upgrading to 13" discs and aftermarket brakes. The shield is smaller than the new discs, so is there much advantage in keeping it at this point?

Thanks,
Julian

Theoretically they are there to reduce the amount of road debris available to accumulate on the caliper. In practice it's more that they contain the dust from the pads.

You could make your own out of some stainless sheet. If you want to be fancy use the polished sheet and use a bead roller.

Maybe hook up some scoops to them like the BB Comp Cobras?
