I noticed several of the vintage racing Panteras in this months PI have motorcycle style gas caps, instead of the flip open filler/with conventional gas cap ala '73-'74. The opening is an odd size, but, I like the look. Has anyone attemted this on their street car? I am guessing some modification to the neck but I am more interested in which brand of motorcycle tank cap or other was used.
Cheers to you all.

Funny you should ask.
Yes I have a fuel filler cap from a 427 Cobra Comp Car mounted on mine.
I like the looks. It seems to match the GT4 without flares theme.
It is actually very easy to do.
My 73 did not have an external filler. I bought 74 conversion parts and installed them. I then took the left gill from the 73, found the center of the filler neck. Then I just went down to the local Home Depot and bought a hole saw and drilled it out on the drill press.
The "cobra" filler neck rivits to the Pantera sheet metal and the gills slip over it.
Then the exterior part of the Cobra filler neck threads on.
It's a little bit of a pain because it needs to be polished all the time. It's a big cast aluminum mama. I remember that I bought the thing from Contemporary Cobra while he was still in business.
