Gasser Sighting

Dave, great photo! I still get goose bumps thinking back to watching these guys run back in the 60's. There wasn't another drag class that could match these cars in appearance and excitement generation for the crowd. The front engine top fuelers were cool...but gassers were frosty!

Pretty cool. I've bought a few parts from Ohio George Montgomery who still has a shop here in the Dayton area. On one trip, he showed us his restored Willys Gasser in the back shop. He says he must have been out of his mind to drive the thing. His '69 Mustang Gasser with the twin turbocharged Boss 429 is also sitting in the shop. Lot's of drag racing history in one place. It brought back memories of the good old days when I used to go to all the Southern California drag strips (Irwindale, Lions, OCIR, Fontana,...) in the sixties.
