gauge and switch locations

Here is a photo of a 7500 mile, completely original #4424, manufacture date 10-72. Sometime earlier, the switches were icons. My #2811, build date 2-72, Has icon for the lights and fans, but "Courtesy" for the dome light.

thanks dave! my car has a 7-72 build date and has icons on the fan switches [2] courtesy on dome light and lights on headlamp switch ,i wonder if this due to very early L car or what was available in the parts bin. should hl switch be icon or lettered?

I would guess there is no sharp cutoff date or serial# for switch configuration. Probably a mixed bag in '72.

FWIW, our #4366 (Sept '72 L) had lettering on both the rocker switches and the e-switch. All still working, too.
