I just found out my Pantera has Gerling brakes in the front. I don't know anything about them. Are they any better than stock ones? Any information on them, especially personal experiences, would be greatly appreciated.
My 1974 Pantera from Europe has them as well. Parts (pads, seals, flex lines, etc) are readily available from our vendors. When rebuilt they work well. The pistons are somewhat prone to corrosion and pitting as you might notice during a rebuild. If that is the case you can try to polish it away and if that does not succeed then new ones can be purchased.
Chuck, mine is a European Pantera and was not a U.S. market one. According to Marti Report anyway. So these Gerling brakes must have been on both versions.
I didn’t realize you could get a Marti report for a European Pantera. Can you post a copy of it here? Also, are your rear brake calipers normal ‘71 -‘74 OEM or are they Girling as well?

Marti has access to the North American Ford market records. Nothing outside of that range.
David, Marti Report only told me that my car is a European one, nothing else they could provide to me. I dug up most of its history and posted it on another post on this forum.
Girlings have always been a dependable brake front & rear. But they always used chrome or nickel plated mild steel pistons. So if you don't drain & renew brake fluid regularly, entrained moisture will get under the plating and pit the pistons. You can check with a magnet sometime. No economic fix possible except piston replacement. Some of us have made our own stainless steel brake pistons.
