Excellent idea IMHO! On many Panteras, stripping to bare metal will reveal popped spot welds in some areas, and there are weld-in stiffeners & doublers available to accomodate some of the known weak spots in the Pantera monococque design. The only drawbacks are- the welding should be done by someone who knows how to TIG-weld and has such a machine available, to limit the heat input to the body panels & thus minimize corrective bodywork afterwards; the car will likely need to be stripped to bare metal before the welding, as dirty panels make weak welds. And obviously, the cost of a paint job afterwards is not trivial, either.
