I don't think the appeal is lost,the car has to be done right.If you look at the side shot of that car,you will see that the wheels are way to far forward in the rear well and too far back in the front.That is a sure sign the flares where not done with the wheels mounted yet to get a true center point.That is what you get when you deal with non pantera experienced shops.If you are looking at a converted car and it wasn't done by an experienced shop in panteras RUNNNNN!!!!.If i see a car was done by a pantera vendor i consider it to be worth alot more.

Maybe that is what the problem is, in that I thought it was the orange color on a group 4 that bothered me. But actually the body work may not be correct. I love orange, but something just looked non appealing.

I venture this car would have been worth $10K more if it hadn't been butchered.

I think the car being in Canada had something to do with it. Awful gutsy letting it go like that without a reserve. Wheels are reletively cheap to change.

Look closely at the trunk/bucket area... Seems customized too.

I DO think the flares had a lot to do with it. People used to customize 57-67 Corvettes with flared wheel wells, etc. too. But as the values rose, most people realized it was an increasingly expensive mistake to personalize a desireable original car. Then they all got the custom stuff removed and returned to factory trim! Eventually, people will stop butchering up Panteras too (if and when the value of the original cars is more widely known and established for what they actually were). The factory wide body cars are a separate issue as they have a "pedigree".

I have not posted to the above discussion on the orange group 4 to date. Any comments attributed to me are in fact, in error. However, just deciding that something is what it is not, based upon convoluted logic, or self serving thinking, is delusional.

Great synopsis, Percy. You are a mature and very knowledgable Pantera owner. There are a lot more people out there that think the Pantera was and is a valuable enough car to save it for the way it was actually made.

After a good sleep last night I realize what a foolish person I am.

Modify these cars and fix all those factory faults!

Okay boys and girls!Time to grow up!Fact is, who ever owns the car, gets to do what they want to it,be it restored to stock,untouched original,or modified.You dont have to like ,or agree with what the other person does its not your car,its theirs.

Your absolutly correct , If you cant afford it then dont do it. The bigger the better dont you think as long as it does it purpose.
