How to dismount doors ?

Hi,

I ask about that because the painter I give my car for a new painting job doesn't want to damage anything.
So if someone of you did it for his Pantera I'm interested in your experience.

I dont see it as very difficult. Remove the armrest, door knob, and the door panel..then disconnect the wiring harness from the window mechanizm ... then pry out the rubber gromit where the harness pass thru and unbolt the 6 bolts that hold the door on at the hinge ?? The door is off.

Do we have to remove the window and the all internal mechanism in order to take of the outside metalic moulding (showing on the picture) ?

That stainless moulding is fastened by a number of tiny screws that are buried in the cat wisker window felt. I'm not sure if the window has to come out , though. I believe it does. The glass is easy to remove. Just remember to mark where the different number of washers go in the track system. It'll save you time later when re-installing.

the window must come out then the front window channel followed by the 'vent' glass. there is a screw up near the front which can only be removed with the glass out. there is a screw on top of the door which holds the window channel in, it is usually found under the rubber trim on top of the door frame.
