Thanks TomCat! Easy and free to join (I think. Been there so long I actually don't remember!)

Yeah, I totally over-pampered that car. Just 12,800 miles in 28 years. Rather great.

Good luck with your sale,

I totally, thoroughly, and completely agree. Had a dealer jump in, uninvited, to make a rather boneheaded comment in an attempt to derail. If I had time to be vindictive, I'd return the favor.

I know what you mean, but thankfully the sane people outnumber the idiots, just the idiots are louder.

Ended up selling to an Fchatter, good guy who understood me, the car, the deal. Another pic - -

congrats on sale !

i had myself a real perfect one... drove it 200 miles and got enough. Had dreams about it but was a great disappointment. No real torque, just rev's noise Roll Eyes and the fear anything could break at Ferrari "costs" ... between steering wheel and dashboard one hands can't pass above... didn't like the car. no.
I tought it would have been the ultimate "Pantera", same profile AND targa .... no way.

Many have made similarly inverse comments about the Pantera. (Crude, ponderous, what brakes?) Good thing we have many performance cars to choose from!

I agree that the torque is hard to find below about 4 grand, but the upper rev howl and 'on the button' feel of that car singing up high, superbly balanced, and one wrist tightening away from a lane change is mighty fun. Just a different driving experience all around.

Driving the Pantera brings out a whole different type of attitude for me and I love it too. Unreal low end grunt, an incredible gearbox (we are so fortunate to have one of the best gearboxes ever made in these cars!) and of course the Ford V8 telling the world this is no high-strung delicate machine.

I've had mine 10 years now. It may be time for me to move on with it too as we simplify our lives. If I do, I'll start another thread. Tough call, as I'v kept it through a dozen or so other toys over the years.
