Intake Manifold, Distributor gear

I purchased a 71 last year with an Edelbrock intake which has a "F351" designation on it. Is this an old style Performer series? Will it work with 2V heads? I have a high volume oil pump installed, is it necessary to change the distributor drive gear or just add the extra split pin?

Don't know about your intake, but yes-definitely do something about the distributor drive gear pin- the extra load from your un-needed high-volume oil pump will fail a stock pin faster than a normal pump. I also suggest you replace the stock oil pump driveshaft with a much stronger unit from Milodon or Ford-SVO, for the same reason
