On July 20th, returning from the Jersey Panteras BBQ, my engine started bucking and then shut down.
When my mechanic got the valve covers off two of the Jesel shaft mount aluminum roller rocker arms were broken on the passenger side bank. One was an intake and one was an exhaust. They were not on the same cylinder. I was told by my mechanic that they failed in almost exactly the same spot on each arm, on the pushrod side.
The motor has only about 2000 miles since new. It has never been raced. All these are street miles.
Now I don't know if I trust any of the remaining rocker arms. Jesel makes stainless steel but it is very expensive, $200 per rocker arm.
Any opinions as to why these rocker arms failed so soon?
