What about race entries for the Le Mans Classic, is it by invitation only or when do applications have to be submitted?

Le Mans classic is something that everyone should attend at least once in their lifetime. But beware - it's like shooting heroin or something - you try it once and you're addicted!

My calendar is reserved for the whole week. Nobody can say that they weren't advised with sufficient time to organize their agendas!

Applications only ( and a 3000 euros (refundable if not admitted ) downpayment )
It's tough, believe me. Soooo many cars are applying ! It is by far, the best EU event .
When I first applied in 2006 with 2342, the Warhol car, only 2 ( yes, two ) Panteras applied . Warhol and my German friend Martin Jöergens with GR4 tribute VIN 6015 . We had a blast from the first minute we met !
Two years after ( LMC only happens every two years ) we were 5, including my Candy car ( VIN 2862 factory GR4 ) ( let me try to post that picture, it's always a pain... I don't do it often enough ...
Candy was best of the 5 Panteras ( best lap,best classifying, 21st overall, 13th at the Performance index, out of 75 cars....) See my article in POCA magazine.
Last year, in 2010, the LMC organizers took 5 cars , including Candy, but BOUNCED no less than 15 other GR4 Panteras, replicas, but also factory cars... I am glad to have pioneered the image of DT Panteras at LMC, although I might be a victim of its success next year ( but looking for some solution )
So, in conclusion, if you wish to apply, do it as soon as the registration opens, and come with a car that is very seriously documented

It is on my bucket list! I would like to take Whiplash over and participate in the race. It would be great to meet-up with the European D.T. enthusiasts again.
Pat, thank you for presenting great Panteras in competition and for your un-dying enthusiasm for the marque.

Just came back from Le Mans after participating in the Le Mans Story with my GTV. Difficult circuit but lot's of fun once you get to know it. Post some pics later (although the webmaster may throw pics of Alfa's off the forum)
