I purchased my '71 last year with a supposedly rebuilt 351C. I had to remove my intake for a lifter problem and found a rather large hole on the front "wall" of the lifter valley. It is jagged on one side (indicating its probably not exactly factory), approximately 1" in diameter. It passes into the cavity for the distributor drive. It supposed to be there and if so if should it be that big? I get the impression its probably for oiling.
