Previously I was looking for potential answers because suddenly I had no working head lights, they neither opened nor lit up. You all provided ideas about solving the dilemma. I tried a few ideas but had to put the project aside for a few days. This morning, with daylight, I drove to a car show and just for the hell of it tried the lights. You guessed it, they worked just fine.

So, knowing this, what would you guess is happening here? A sticking switch?

I agree with MJ, I would say your switch is getting bad.  After 50 years and heat from the amps running through the witch makes the plastic brittle and will not always make contact.  When I took my switch out it fell apart.  If you buy a new switch, I would add some relays.  You can talk to Roland how he did it or check with Jon Hass at Pantera Electronics, he make a board to do this.  Larry

Yes, I scratched my head a little bit reading your LeMans850 post (with the picture of two switches), but then figured out!

PS. Are the yellow lights on the top switch and the headlights on the bottom one, just to mix it up a little?

PSS. I’m sure I’m not alone in wondering what is that symbol (that looks like lady parts) on the switch above your voltmeter?
