Hi All, had a quesion for those that have dealt with replacing or repairing rusty water necks. Mine has corroded to almost nothing under the hose, so it seems like a good time to consider purchasing one of the new 'adjustable' units that let you rotate the neck portion however you want (the Goose orientation is opposite of a generic Ford setup). This solves the problem of fabricating a new neck, with the added bonus of allowing use of a thermostat - Summit for one sells them. Anybody done this? Looks like it will fit, just not sure if it would impact water flow / cooling. Guess the thermostat could always be removed if created problems..!

Nate,

SOrry to reply sooooo late to this one!

You can always opt for a stock Ford housing, and just run a longer rubber hose with a 90 at the end. I did that for the last few years....until I started my engine swap adventure!

Or you can have a custom one made up to copy the original, but just put a .040" groove in it to hold the T-stat!

I have a picture of one that a guy in TX made up out of stainless! BeautY!!!

ALso, make SURE that you have a ground strap....my car was missing one for a while...and it was EATING up all the metal tubes and a RAD-CAP (with sacrificial anode) in it...the latter is what alerted me to the issue! In 30 days....it looked like pooh!!! ...that's not right!

Ciao!
Steve
