Just got word of another outstanding product from Jon Haas. USA manufactured LED bulbs for the gauges, tach and speedo. For those new owners who are not familiar with Jon he is a fantastic resource not only in his over engineered products, but also a great resource for any electrical questions.

Like all of his Pantera specific items this is a major improvement over the original or even other LED offerings. They fit in the original OEM light connectors without any modifications. Jon even includes color install instructions to achieve maximum lighting. Yes all Mr. Haas is beyond anal when designing his products. And unlike some vendors who claim they work on Panteras without ever actually fitting or testing them, Jon's are always Pantera tested.

Six bulbs ( 4 gauges, speedo & Tach) for $35 shipped.

I have ordered a set and will report back after installation.

I installed the LEDs from Pantera Electronics. Below is the before and after of the gauges.
Sorry for the not so great quality of the pics. But the difference is huge !

Jon also said a side benefit is that because of the low heat generated by the LEDs it eliminates the fogging of the gauges. That nagging issue has driven me crazy in the 20 + years owning #4134. That benefit alone is worth buying these lights.

As stated previously another great product engineered by a great Pantera owner.

Larry,

I had not used the rheostat in years. It was always just set to the maximum setting. I did try using it today after installing the LEDs and it appeared to allow for dimming and complete shutoff of the lights.

This note regarding the rheostat from PE site.
"The dimmer will function with these LED Gauge lamps but the dimmer will have reduced linearity in adjustment range."

David,
An interesting and what appears to be a well thought out product. And reasonably priced.

Saturday night for the first time ever I was able to actually not be guessing at my speedo/tach and gauge readings. By setting the rheostat at the lowest setting it gave me just the right amount of dimming with still great illumination. For now I see no need for further adjustments. Others may want a greater degree of adjustment that this product offers. If anyone goes that route I would love to see a review.

Jeff
