There are and have always been floods and weather patterns like this all over the world since the beginning of time. The difference is that you get to see everything now instantly whereas if it wasn't happening locally in the past, if it happened in Bangladesh, you didn't know about it. As for scientific consensus about the man made nature of global climate change, subtract out scientists who receive their funding from government grants aimed at proving the existence of such change and you'll find a different story. Again, the research suggesting a radical change is based on computer models and not on the actual measurement of temperatures around the globe. And even some scientists who believe there is actual climate change don't agree with the drastic measures taken to curb carbon emissions. I forget the scientist's name, but he produced a documentary called "Cool it" which criticized the route western countries have taken to attempt turn back the clock. The hacked emails from England where climate change proponents(scientists) faked data to support their claims as well as suggested that scientists who didn't agree with their findings be ridiculed says it all. Be very wary of what you see in the media.
