Okay to use spacer between carb and manifold?

I have a Holley 650 double pumper on an Edelbrock 4V aluminum manifold, and I need to put in new fuel rail. The problem is that my new fuel rail and the manifold collide. Is there any issue with adding a 1/2" non-metallic carb spacer? It will obviously raise the carb and air cleaner but I do use the cover screen.

People use phenolic spacers all the time, I'm sure it will be fine. It will insulate the carb a little bit also...
