KRISTIANSAND: - We saw he had problems in a couple of corners and had originally planned to call him in, "said Henry Hansen Morgan Club in Kristiansand.

Before they had time to get the 49-year-old off the court, he was skidding into a turn and drove straight down a slope. The car ended up on the roof paint and gasoline from the car. He remembered nothing. Rescue crews quickly got the man out of the car and sent him off to hospital. Then they added foam fuel leak, turned the car and taken off the ignition.

- He remembered nothing from the accident, but complained of headaches, "said police chief Oyvind Hægeland.

In Southern Hospitality in Kristiansand said that the man is injured, but stable, and are kept under observation.

- Cars Professionals
The car he was driving a DeTomaso Pantera. It has 500 hp and central motor and wide tires. The accident took place just ahead of Morgan club events at the traffic center.

- We at Morgan club had test driven the path and had only a slight pause
before we were going to. 49-year-old asked if he could be allowed to try the
track in the meantime. It was allowed to. In a couple of the first corners,
it seemed that he had no control, but we did not have to wave him off the
court before it was too late, "said Hansen.

Several of them fvn.no talked to believe the car difficult to drive because it has so powerful motor and wide tires.

- A car for the professional, the chorus that went behind in the wake of the accident.

I do not know what kind of experience this driver had, but that is pretty typical of many drivers that do not have a lot of experience. You start off and are missing your line in the first couple of corners and instead of backing off and getting to know the track, they just keep going and compound the first mistake and before you know it they are in trouble. Hope the driver will be OK. And that he will rebuild.
Never a pretty sight seeing a damaged Pantera.

As a Euro car this may well be a genuine GT5 and relatively rare. The report said it rolled onto it's roof, so the extent of any roof damage or chassis twisting will likely dictate whether it can cost effectively come back to life.

Track day insurance has to be a real consideration for anyone that wants to push their limits (their car's or their own).

but that is a rebuild, not a parts car.

Wellll, anything can be rebuilt.

But if rebuilding this wreck is going to be up to getting an insurance company to pay for it, then it will not be repaired.

Waaay too much damage unless he had it insured for much more than its actual value,

Only as a labor of love, by one man in his own shop, with all his own labor, can this be rebuilt.

IMHO
