I have an original Pantera 351C with only 88,000 original miles on it. The motor includes block and heads and all internals. I am interested in selling it, and I feel it should go back into another Panter. If anyone is interested, please contact me at 805-462-2333.

thank you,

To confirm it is an origional Pantera block,
locate the block #. Looking at the "driver's side", from the rear, find the 5 digit number. It is just below the head, on a flat surface (vertical), just above where the block mates to the bell housing.
SO much harder to describe than show....so
See an example here: http://geocities.com/pantera_tech/TS102_3.html

Do you know if it is a 4-bolt or 2-bolt main ?

Chuck,
I will have to get that block # for you. I don't have the VIN. I got the motor from the owner of the car back in 1987. It was still in the car running when I bought it. In those days, the motor was considered only as good as a regular 351C.
Expect my reply sometime late tommorow.

Richard
That is a very early block #. I believe the block #'s started with "00001", or close.
For car VIN info visit my website at:

Main page:http://www.geocities.com/provamo72/
VIN page: http://www.geocities.com/provamo72/VINDecoder.html

Car VIN started with 1001. So block and car #'s won't be the same, but the block number was stamped in two places, one on the footbox plate next to the brake booster.(Motour # ?) The other location was on a plate mounted on the left side (as seen from back of car) of the engine bay near the gas filler/deck lid shock area. USA cars also had a timing/smog plate here too.
See:http://www.geocities.com/provamo72/IDBadges_1.html
for examples of these and other plates or badges...

BTW: I don't consider 2 bolt blocks to be any weaker than 4 bolt blocks.

Chuck
