I agree too. On the GT40s Forum the rules are nothing can be posted for sale without a photo, location AND a price. Maybe something for George to consider adding here? Or at least doing a poll to see what the majority thinks?

+1, from what I heard he was looking for offers seemingly having a high opinion of what they were roughly worth. If that was the case he should have just put them on eBay IMO.
Although these wheels were stored for many years and in good condition, it's generally a crap shoot with such old wheels. I know of instances where they have age cracked and come completely apart. The tires are junk and might as well be removed and tossed.
For me the benchmark for pricing is the sand cast mag wheels from Marvic, made to original specs. With the FX rate where it is they are roughly $8,800 from Mr. Fiat, perhaps cheaper direct as Mr. Fiat is known for inflated prices. An aluminum version by Roin to the same dimensions is available for $2k cheaper.

I am very suspicious of someone posting in this section trying to sell something and it's their very first post! I usually ignore them, regardless of how attractive the item may be because it's obvious that they have no interest in the car or forum. I'm a member of another forum that restricts users from the buy and sell section until they've contributed a minimum number of posts.
