Go to your local auto supply store and get yourself a clay bar paint cleaning system. It contains a yellow bar of clay (looks like your kids Play-Doh) and spray lubricant and follow directions. Check with your "messy" painter beforehand to make the the type of paint he used has fully cured.

Good luck

It happens all the time. No matter how well you tape it up. Next time I am going to cover my parts with wide tape, and press it down. Then you have to worry that it will lift the paint when you remove the tape. Use the clay bar first, then come back with the white polish.
If the overspray is on good paint use Mineral Spirits, or the reducer your painter used to mix your paint. Be CAREFULL ! don't rub too hard, or let it soak in, use a clean rag, and wipe in one direction, it helps if your paint has had time to cure, after the overspray is gone, polsih or buff as normal.
If the overspray is on the under coating or metal parts, you don't need to be as carefull with the reducer, wipe down, and use a little elbo grease.

Keep in mind what Mark says..DO NOT USE Laquer Thinner..Mineral sprits OK....Enamel reducer OK with caution.
I think these few recommendations use sparingly, you will have to assess the location of the overspray. I would use claybar/compound on surfaces that are finish painted. I would use mineral spirts/enamel reducer on engine parts/ suspension etc. Then in some areas inside fender wells and so on maybe touch up with undercoat or repaint.
