I don't think the ACV is meant to be a minimum or reserve price. I think its meant to be a value of the car in restored shape or possibly what the agreed value of the car was before it was wrecked. Anybody out there know for certain?

There was thread the other day on the e-mail list of a guy rescuing a GTS that had been T-boned. Not a straight panel on it, here's his photo's.

On closer inspection of the Copart photos the red car looks like it might have run up under a truck or something. The lower front panels aren't pushed back too far, if you stripped away the fenders and hood this might be a salvageable chassis. Not that I'd want to tackle it, but sure looks a better candidate to me than the GTS.

I did in fact see them. The wheels on the red car appear to Etoile 17" wheels. I'm trying to get away from the 15"ers.

Good luck getting them for a decent price now. I had every intention of buying this car and fixing it as long as the price didn't get out of hand. It "flew under the DeTomaso community radar" for several days and the price was very low. Within a few hours of you posting it here, the price went to over $5000 and now is over $8000! Now there is barely any profit left in fixing it ( I built most of it so I know what kind of parts the owner had me install (i.e Pro Comp aluminum heads etc...)and someone will no doubt buy it,part it out and the world will lose another Pantera.Nice.

Sorry to piss in your Cheerios pal, but all I did was disseminate public information. When that becomes illegal, you just let me know.
This global and connected world makes information flow freely, and makes "making a good deal" harder. A shame in some cases.

Looks like the poor thing sat wrecked for quite a while. Pretty well developed rust on the bare sheet metal in the dented spots. Fellow must have pondered saving her before he came to the decision to auction as-is. Can't blame him for trying to get the best price he could.
I don't know, unless you are turning out the sheet metal yourself on a English wheel, you got $15K in parts going into that car. Probably more. Pantera front clips don't grow on trees.
From looking carefully, I would say there is a very good chance the sub frame is tweeked. Look at the windshield channel.
If you already had the parts and some crazy good metal skills, perhaps it would be a different story.
Every couple of months a pantera pops up, either here, hemmings, auto trader ....that would be a lot less work for more profit then you would make from this.

I just got #4871 delivered here today. Was going to use for some parts for my #5103 car, but this car is fixable. Front end sheetmatal is a mess, but underside looks fairly straight. We cut off the front skin & car rolls straight. Windshield didn't get hurt either! Lots of nice parts...Wilwood disc brakes, Billet shocks, new ceramic headers, big throat exhaust, nice interior & nice set of 17" rims. The car will be restored, or at least used for racing at new formula 1 track here in Austin. We put a battery in & car started right up...very strong sounding, but Demon carb will need a kit. Tranny shifted easily into gear & almost felt like it would drive...will have to wait for that. I probably will sell the wheels, rear bumper, exhaust & maybe Pro Comp heads if anyone is interested.

Thanks, I have my hands full for sure. I'm selling all my Mopar Nostalgia SS drag cars to bring these back to life. I'll post pics of my #5103 car soon. It is fresh out of paint shop, bright yellow with corvette open headlights & roof scoop. I myself probably wouldn't have done the roof scoop, but it is done well, looks ok & is interesting. I also have several different styles of rear wings I will be selling & new set of high back Challenger R/T style seats. I'm too big to fit in those seats in a Pantera..lol. I probably won't really get going on #4871 until Spring, just going to cut off all un-salvageable metal & take apart, then will go on frame machine before the real work begins.
