I don't have photos to display at this moment but Linda and I did attend the event. There were 28 Panteras on Grand Avenue, a new record I am told for this event. The club had a motor home and canopy out with a pizza meal for the enthusiasts. There were other Shelby and high-po Fords in the display area.
We brought Whiplash but in our rush to get to the event, we ran out of gas! San Diego Club members skillfully tapped the nearby club motorhome using wine bottles and refreshed our fuel cell. Thanks to all that helped including Bret Gann, Dave Briggs, Klaus Schoenherr, Kevin Ryniker and Marshall Smith. There were other people whose names we can't remember.
One neat touch at the event was having all the Panteras fire in unison in a "cackle-fest" type expression. The quality of the Panteras was amazing. The former Bud Greene Gruppo IV won best of show and looked fantastic. Owner: Jeff Goodall.
What Linda and I liked was just how many people enjoyed seeing the Pantera for the first time or after a long absence. Activities like this will keep our brand from being just another obscure, orphaned marque.
In the future we will make sure that our 36 gallon fuel cell is full-up and we will try to repay the great hospitality and fellowship that we experienced last Friday. I will post some photos later or if anybody has some, please post them. Thank you!
Your amigos, Dave and Linda
