So in the eternal quest to further perfect my Pantera, I decided to tackle the parking brakes. They weren't working as well as they used to so I wanted to tune them for better grip. One of the last uncharted territories of my exploration. I raised the car and adjusted the linkage under the handle, and I realised that only the drivers side tire was being gripped, while the other was not. After removing the tires and comparing both sides I realised that the passenger side linkage adjustment nuts had been set to make that side inoperable. Then I adjusted the nuts to match the drivers side and the tire gripped! Great! Once I released the brake though, the tire remained gripped. Then I realised that the return spring was missing from the passenger side, which is why they had disabled it. Here are some pics of the spring on my driver's side. Anyone have ANY idea where I can find such a thing???
