I can't comment on aftermarket fiberglas flairs' durability, but figuring the surface area thats bonded with the epoxy and the bond strength possible if done correctly, it seems they should hold for quite a while. Of course, fiberglas of any thickness WILL eventually crack- take a close look at any Corvette sometime. Body twist in Panteras running giant tires may also contribute to the cracking of flairs; after all, it cracks paint and stock body-metal!

The factory cars used fiberglass flares and I've never heard of any problems with them, even with the 74 GTS models. I think they're pop-riveted and then glued. If so, they should last the life of the car.

Factory may be rivited, but I wonder about a group 4 modification with fiberglass? Do they just glue these on with no pop rivit? Sounds funkey to me.

When you get into conversions, it's very difficult to determine what was done unless it's documented. In other words, who knows..

If you're nterested in a particular car, you may be able to peek under the fender wells and look for rivets.
