Just finished rebuilding my engine and am having a problem with the plugs fouling. I used AC Rapid fires #1 with no results, also tried #2 with same results. After about 10 minutes of running they would foul and start popping. The motor is a 71 with closed chambers, Kieth Black flat tops (around 10.5-1 compression), Holly 700 dp, on a Edelbrock performer, Hall Big Bore headers and mufflers, and electronic ignition. Checked the timing and was right on, also rejetted the carb. The carb was working fine before the rebuild, and no fouling. Please help. I've run out of ideas.

Mark; Thanks for your reply. I guess i left out the cam info. It's a Ford svo,292 dur.,.536 lift. I didn't rebuild the carb. it's only 6 months old from new. The fuel pump is a new Holly, and pressure is about 5 pounds. I also tried adjusting the floats, which were right on. The carb is supposed to have power valve blow out protection. It did back fire trough the carb. on initial start up, but ran ok. Thanks, Paul
Sounds like, for whatever reason, your ignition has decided to slowly suicide. I would look closely at the coil and MSD. Sure, they're used by NASCAR. They also carry two or three, all wired in so when (not if) the thing dies, they can switch to a fresh unit and finish the race. Coils also spontaneously open their internals when hot, then close up after cooling.
