REAR BRAKE PADS - CHEAP!!

go to napa ask for 69-74 volvo i just put a set on my 73 pantera works great same thing

Wayne, I just got back from NAPA. I looked at the volvo pads. Very similar but missing the tab on back that keeps the piston from turning. Be carful! If the piston turns in the bore you may loose adjustment. I have herd of using a welder to build a tab up, but question the heat involved. Brakes are one part you must be cautious with.

Me too. I figured since it was the second set of pads in 35 years, might as well go for the best I can find... I' pretty sure the Porterfield RS4's stop a Pantera better than a 69 Volvo...

Do any of these pads have the low pad warning wire built into them like the original ones did?
I got mine from Hall and have no idea what brand they are and they do not have the wire.

No. Porterfield pads are aftermarket, non-original pads without the wire.
PE has the original pads with the wire.

PE is Pantera East.

The difference in stopping power with the Porterfield's is amazing. And they don't really cost all that much. <$200 as I remember. Besides, what's the cost of a nose job on the Pantera when you hit the car in front of you because your brakes weren't as good.

The Porterfields have no wires for indicator lights. BUt I guess as Roland suggested you could add them. But I dont rely on any light to tell me when my brakes are in need of changing anyway,. But dont let that stop you ... the Porterfields are the best your going to get with stock brake components. I Tested them myself at Pocono and after 5 20 minute sessions they were still performing and stopping. Dont forget its recommended to change the fluid to DOT 4 every 3 years and if your racing every year.
