I just finished rebuilding the rear stock brakes on my 74 L. I put new pads on and they don't clear the rotors. The new pads were measured and they are about 7/16ths not counting the backing plate. The ones I took off measure about 1/4. Any hints? thanks.

I'm not a brake expert, but when I replaced my rear pads with Porterfields last year, I learned the brake pistons on my early 71 are screw-type adjustable. I had to adjust mine slightly to get the pad in on one side. The piston easily screwed in to give more clearance. Good luck.
