All,

I am heavily saddened to announce the cancellation of the 2010 PCNC Speed Trials.

The Reno Fernley Raceway (RFR) track operators have been evicted from the property, there are no other track facilities in the Reno area, all track-site improvements not poured in concrete have been removed by the previous operators, and at this time there are no firm plans in place to re-open the track.

While there is a possibility of the track being re-opened later this year, with nothing definite now in place and with the long lead time required for the refurbishment of the track and the organization of our event, PCNC sees no option but to cancel our Speed Trials.

I have spent many hours speaking with the principals involved, on both sides, in this affair. The PCNC and POCA boards and I have exchanged many emails in the past months. It is a great understatement to say this has not been an easy decision to make.

PCNC remains committed to providing a Speed Trials event at the 2011 POCA Fun Rally if RFR has been re-opened. If the Fun Rally perhaps returns to Las Vegas, PCNC will of course then explore our return to Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump.

Please remember there is so much more to the Fun Rally than just the track event. In addition to the events of 2009, new events are being planned for the 2010 Fun Rally. Whether your attendance at the Speed Trials has been as a driver or spectator, please view this year’s cancellation as an opportunity to enjoy some of these other events, make new friends, and enjoy all that the 2010 Fun Rally will have to offer.

Sincerely,

Larry Finch

PCNC Motorsports Director
