OK, I've stripped the paint off my wheels and I'm looking through the archives to find the baking directions left by B.W. (was it 450 degrees for 10-12 hrs?, I just can't remember) after which they'll need to be painted. Do I need to use a specific paint for magnesium?

It was 375 or a bit higher, for 3-4 hrs followed by VERY slow cooling overnight, to stress-relieve the magnesium. The casting needs no special paint unless you've done something to burn off or remove the zinc chromate primer. If so, its advised to touch up with some type of zinc chromate, then ordinary aluminum paint. Ford originally specified 'Argent Silver' as the color.
