Good Afternoon,

I purchased a new set of lap seat belts from Hall some time ago and finally get around to installing them. They fit fine with no issues.

However, I noticed that they don't lock into the original shoulder harness side. The new lap belts have a plastic insert in the locking hole which I assume is supposed to be a press fit?

The original lap belts were broken so I never connected them to the shoulder harness, so I have no idea how they fit originally.

OD of the shoulder pin is ~0.56" and the plastic clip is ~.055", I'm guessing this is why they don't stay latched together? Maybe the plastic insert on the lap side has too large of an ID to snap?

Any ideas or am I doing something wrong to lock them?

the part you show with the plastic insert is for mounting on the firewall or inside rocker panel .

I dont think the shoulder belt will fit those new lapbelts

Thanks Simon, This makes sense now.

Looks like the new belts are a 1 pc design vs the original 2pc design.

Yes, now and than you can buy good used Pantera belts on Ebay.

shoulder belts are almost similar of 71 Mustang and or other Ford cars.
