Shifting into Reverse is often difficult, needing to jiggle the shifter, etc. to get it to pop into gear. The same is true to a much lesser extent into 2nd. The car has about 30k mi. and had the shocks/springs recently replaced and the ride height was lowered slightly, perhaps making the problem/s worse a bit I think. How easily should it shift into Reverse? Is this just normal for the ZF? If not, any advice as to what I might start looking at? Has anyone else had these same symptoms? Thanks in advance for the help.

The reverse idler gear is not synchroed and it's stright cut teeth, the front of the gear teeth are 45deg. to let them engage, when they start to wear it will not go,your best bet is to go into 3rd and 4th then reverse, that will slow down all the shafts and gears to let you shift.Have it fixed when
you have your ZF serviced.
