Side lettering?

I think you should re-paint the car black...

If not, keep the lettering. It'll help all those guys who keep asking you if it's a Lotus.

Not a big fan of the side lettering in general. However I think it looks good on your car since the black comes up so far on the door.

I'm thinking if it was me I would leave it.

At least till you paint the car black

I vote NO to the letters, never been a fan of them, too big and bold for me, the car can speak for itself !

I lke the way it looks. Take a picture and black out the lettering and you can geta good idea how it will look. See you at Pocono. The lettering on mine will most likely come off when its painted.

The lettering looks "period correct". If keeping the car looking oem was important to me, I would keep it.

There is nothing else subtle about a Pantera so why not have a billboard on the side? Guess you can figure out I'm not a huge fan. I even took the PANTERA sun visor off mine. Adds to the mystique. Makes people try and get up on your bumber to figure out what it is.

That's what always scares me... some guy passing in the outside lane with one hand on the wheel passenger window down and trying to point a cell phone camera to take a photo

IMHO like all things Pantera the lettering can look great on some cars and cheap on others a lot depending on the style of lettering, color combo and stance etc. I'd put yours in the 'great' category with the yellow and black, maybe I'd add a set of GTS flares to set it off and make it even more in keeping with the lettering!

I don't like it without the lettering because the black is too high. Looks like only half the car was painted.
The lettering stays, at least until I add flares.

I've seen a number of cars with the original lettering. I like it, but that depends upon the color.

When I was visiting Wilkinson a few years ago, I bought a set of original (DeTomaso) lettering, just in case...
I was told it was the last set they had, and it took us quite a while to find both sides.

I decided to temporarily tape it and take some photos, to see if I liked the black lettering on my red car.

Then I learned the set I bought is WHITE letters! Not the black I was expecting, DOOOP!

I should have opened the package before I paid big bucks. Live and learn.

Well I guess I could color it black, but I lost interest.... Maybe someday I'll revisit the idea.

Note that there are at least two (or 3???) versions, with a USA style, and a Euro (GTS) style.

AND -> TWO <- COLORS!

No problem Richard. I was just finishing painting my car that colour so I still had the paint in the gun.... Oh, hope you don't mine, I got you some new wheels too!

Keep the lettering, the car looks great! I am partial to the lettering, although I did not used to be.

I love the letters. I am actually contemplating painting the letters on my tires to match the letters on the car. Thoughts? This is using MSPaint.
