smaller intake valve

Installing smaller valves and doing nothing else isn't going to help anything. There's still a lot of valve shrouding in the combustion chamber. I don't know if it would be possible to install smaller seats, I would assume its possible if the valve pockets are unported, raw, just the way Ford produced them; but not possible if the valve pocket has been cleaned-up and/or the throat enlarged.

My advice would be to use them as-is, don't worry about the valve size.
