Recommendations on purchase of stainless coolant tubes and if they should be coated?
Replies sorted oldest to newest
I don’t see the reason why they should be coated…
PI Motorsports has them.. I put them in my car (7/10 PITA scale) and they fit…
make sure to use Gates hoses.. and I used double hose clamps… 👍 safety first😜
...search for your local Metal Supplier. Purchase 1-3/8" Non-Magnetic Stainless Tubing. Take your old tubes with you to a Tube Bending Shop...using a Mandrel. They can even put the 'Hose Beads' on the ends for you. The Straights will be No problem, but must be in Halves, to install, if the Engine is in Place.
You can purchase a Tubing Bender with Mandrels at 'Harbor Freight'. Or, go ahead and buy from the Vendor.

...P.S. Most Muffler Shops can bend the tubes for You. Last I checked, it cost $5.00 per 'Bend'. AND They Have a Tube 'Expander'...to Open Up the Mouth of the Pictured Tube. OR, They can 'Build' THAT Tube for You! They Must use a Mandrel, to Keep the Tube From Collapsing.
You can also find the grommets as generic sized ones on eBay.
