Steel heater hose tubes in shift lever tunnel

What is the secret to removing these two steel heater water tubes? I can see that they are held by what appears to be a spring steel clip just forward of the shift lever location by using a flashlight. Toward the engine compartment, I can't see anything, although they are very rigid, indicating that they are attached also.

Good info. It's funny that I was thinking about this update after seeing the replacement tubes in Vegas. The only problem I saw was the lower replacement tube was not bent like the original to exit the tunnel side by side with the upper tube. The other change I would make would be to have both tubes exit with a 90-degree bend so the hose would go in straight.
It will probably be easier to do when I have the engine out again.
