I have an orig. 73 Pantera L. It has a holley double pumper with an electric choke.Don't know what size the carb is ?. Problem is that the choke will not completely disengage after car is warmed up. Come to a stop and the car idles at 1600 rpm. Sometimes you can blip the throttle a couple of times and the idle will slow down (usually doesn' work though). I oiled all of the linkage about two weeks ago and it seemed to help but not for long. You can reach behind the choke assembly and push the linkage down off the choke cam, but as soon as you start the car it engages again. How do you disenage the choke completely? Pulling the electric wire off going to the choke doesn't seem to make a difference, and the wire is energized because I can see it spark when I hook it back on the choke. This is a new problem thats been going on about a month. Before that I drove the car all the time with no choke problem..Any ideas? P.S. I know the problem is not in the accelerator cable.
