the '74 Panteras (as well as '72 & '73) were equipped with the spread bore Autolite 4300D carburetor.

The Pantera service manuals available from PI Motorsports has a section on the 351C engine & the 4300 carburetor, I don't remember if its the 4300A or 4300D, theres not much difference.

You can find reprints of Ford service manuals on the internet, normally about $40 for all 4 sections, you can't purchase just the engine section. Ford manuals for that era always seemed to be a year behind in the engine manual, in other words, the '71 manual covered the engines that were available in the '70 model year. So you would need the '75 manual for your '74 engine, make sense? I have the '71 - '73 manuals, the '73 manual covers the '72 Cobra Jet motor, the main difference between that motor & the motor in the '73 & '74 cars was the '72 motor lacked exhaust gas recirculation. I will gladly zerox the appropriate sections of the'73 manual and mail them to you. If you're interested shoot me your address: gp_fillmore@yahoo.com.

There is an old book in its umpteenth edition by Tom Monroe titled something like "How to rebuild Ford 335 & 385 series engines". You can find it on Speed Parts web sites like Summit Racing, Amazon dot com, Classic Motorbooks. I think you would find this book as useful or possibly more useful than the Ford manual.
