The stock rear deck lid weighs about 65 lbs so you're saving quite a bit of weight.

Is your CF rear hood made of 100% carbon fibre? I would've expected a weight around 13 lbs or so. Wilkinson sells a combo CF-Fibreglass rear deck that weighs around 25 lbs.

Substantial weight savings either way. Thanks.

JK, I one time figured up that if you could make the unibody out of Carbon fiber it would only weigh two hundered pounds or so. If you had unlimited money you could make a Pantera that weighed less than 1750 pounds.

1750lbs with a 500HP engine! Imagine.

Remember the guy from Europe that had all those carbon fibre ideas.. Haven't seen him on this board in a while. Wonder if he's made any progress..

Well Josh it will be real interesting to see what he comes up with. Here is another thing to think about, a carbon fiber body is almost invisible to radar.

To answer ur question, the rear deck lid construction we talked of is carbon thru out. He says the reason its heavier than expected is its made for road rather than track use, - the race version is lighter.
