The 260 temp gauge stopped working on my stock 74. Before removing the bulkhead cover i took a look top side to find the sender,it is not on the swirl tank or the block, but plumped into the water tube that covers the thermostat. Normal for a 74 ? There are two wires connected to it, where does the second wire go, to the auto chock ? Any body got a part number for the sending unit ? Napa says the part # is Eckland TS6153 for a 73 mustang. While i have got the bulk head cover off i might as well change the belts. Part numbers anybody ? Two spare belts that came with the car are Gates 9360 and 7405, but are they for this car ? Before i start work i like to have replacement parts in hand. Thanks in advance.

Others will chime in with expert advice, but here is what I have learned in the last week or so.

The Echlin from Napa has had a lot of problems. That is too bad, because I like Napa.

The best sending unit is from Ford itself, and may be difficult to find. The second best is a Borg Warner, and I had been given a hint to go down to O'reilly Auto parts chain, and check out their sending unit. I was able to buy a Borg Warner in an O'reillys box for very cheap, with no waiting.

I do not know the part numbers.
