Throttle cable

I have a new throttle cable and it is quite different from the stock one. Can someone give me some hints on what has to be done to make this new cable work? The ends are not a problem were it attaches to the pedal and the carb just the way the cable housing is supported at each end. My orginal one has the steel tube that the cable runs through and the new cable has the return spring as part of the assy. Thanks
