I was there too with the family. Great turnout on a gorgeous day. The wife wanted the new Alfa 8C; I did too, but my wallet or checkbook were no where to be found......

I had to settle my oldest son down, he wanted to check out the Hummer in the parking lot ...... very frustrating as I am sure a lot of you can understand.

Still had a great time and a wonderful cross section of cars from Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Fiat, Italia (one of my favorites), and of course the DeTomaso's.

Great event and nice to see such a range of Panteras there.

John, would you mind sending me (mark@markscars.ca) some photos of your car? My '71 is one of those 87 cars but was painted white by a previous owner. I've yet to see a good photo that really shows the color well.

Thanks for posting the photos!

John's car is in this iPhone video that I shot of a San Diego Pantera Club event from a few weeks ago.

Thanks John!

Those photos are great and that is definitely the same green that was lurking under my car's undercoating. It looks a bit more yellow in this photo because of the flash I guess. Michael, that is a great looking car (and green), but I think it is a re-spray or perhaps a later color?

Mark,

It could be the flash or it could be the bonding agents in the undercoating. It could also be from any chemicals that you may have used in the stripping/cleaning process. Most of the areas of mine that have chips in the undercoating very closely match the exterior color. I will answer your email questions shortly.

I see that you have the -2. I still have the -1 in mine. I see that your camber bar has an angle near each end which raises the center part of the bar. Does that have something to do with clearance on the -2? Mine is straight.

Love that original sea/lime green Pantera, you don't see many at all that color any more.

Until I saw that pic, I thought that mine may be the only Pantera that kept its original Lime green color. Lime (Verde) was only available on the '71 cars, with only 87 cars painted that color.

John

I think there's one for sale recently on ebay.
